Watch this space?
I wanted to put the old Toonami "Watch This Space" screen here, but Google has both failed me and insulted me with a bunch of Adult Swim crap. To say I do not like Adult Swim is an understatement. Anyway...
You may have noticed that I haven't done squat here. I had plans, but here's what happened to them:
- There are better nostalgia comic reviewers out there, the books I had planned either have gaps I can't fill or low interest rates, and frankly, lately the whole field of nostalgia comic reviewers attract people from a campaign that think having a character come out as gay is "character assassination". So between respect for people doing it better over more interesting titles and not wanting to have my comments filled with Comics Dudes, those aren't getting done.
- The Legion essay and some of the points therein was permanently dropped, thanks to DC Comics devoting itself to wasting all of its best ideas, doubling down on its worst ones, and generally not learning that people only talk about Identity Crisis today as a cautionary tale, not a favorite work. What's the point of saying what you'd like for a shelved series if the people who are going to be running it will only do wrong by it again?
- After what felt like an extended season of townie stuff, Steven Universe - the subject of another long-form essay I had started - suddenly got not only good again but GREAT. Also, two videos - Robobuddie's Steven Universe Rant and Lea C's Steven Universe Critique - cover everything I would have said in a more entertaining manner. So it's scrapped, too.
- No one but me really cares about the differences between the novel/anime and manga of Magical Girl Raising Project, so the 2nd volume isn't being annotated with differences. Also, to make my point, I'd need picture examples, and guess who doesn't have a scanner. People from any fan wikis or TV Tropes who want to use the 1st volume ones are still free to do so, though. Credit is appreciated, but I've been online long enough to know it's unlikely.
- Finally, having hit my late 30s & found myself pretty much broke despite working a good full-time job cuz we live in a hell world, I realized that the Rolling Stones were right: What a drag it is getting old.
So what's happening here? Probably nothing. It'll probably stay here indefinitely, visited only by the most wayward Russian spambots. I've been working on original fiction (I wanted to do webcomics, but I can't draw worth beans), so maybe if I get confident enough to share it & find a hosting service that won't try to sneak in ownership claims (like this one), I'll link to it here. And who knows? Maybe something will prompt me to write here again.
As a wise CGI robot once said, watch this space.

Sorry to hear that you are discouraged. Keep on writing, even if you don't post it here. I like a lot of your stuff and I think you would have an audience. Just need to find that right project that keeps you interested and encouraged. Don't give up.
